Dear {{first_name | friend}},
All well?
Do green, low-carbon tourism supply chains unintentionally exclude women?
"[C]lean energy transitions are never purely technical. They redistribute costs and opportunities, which can unintentionally widen existing gender inequities."
This is what Kevin Phun of the Centre for Responsible Tourism Singapore will argue in a "Good Tourism" Insight Bite that will be compiled with your (no more than) 300-word response (reply to this email).
Can tourism in developing countries ever be truly ‘sustainable’ when it deepens inequality?
University College Birmingham Senior Lecturer Simon Faulkner posed that question as a challenge to his students, limiting them to 300 words each according to the “GT” Insight Bite guidelines.
Cardamom Tented Camp, a nature-based tourism model in Cambodia, protects over 18,000 hectares while advancing community engagement and sustainable operations.
Have something to say? For inclusion in the next “GT” Insight Bites compilation, send by reply to this email no more than (</=) 300 words on a tourism-related theme of your choice, along with a picture of you, and what you do for work or study. (For more depth, you can and should link to references and sources).
Check out this open invitation, which includes guidelines for full “GT” Insights.
There are only a SELECT FEW "GT" Partnership spots available to organisations that wish to support my work. I neither need nor ask for much, which means there is tremendous value on offer. If you sincerely appreciate what I do, please be in touch.
